Conference held on March 13, 2000 in Phoenix, Arizona.
-- David Pitonyak, is a human services consultant interested
in positive approaches to challenging behaviors. He believes
that challenging behaviors are "messages" which can tell
us important things about the individual and his or her
surroundings. Understanding the "meaning" of an individual's
challenging behaviors if the first step in supporting
the person (and the person's supporters) to change.
